I like the design of the background, the sharp edges create a professional look.
however i think for a contents page its a little bit empty and missing something. For example you could add a paragraph from the publisher of the magazine so the audience get a rough idea of what is inside the magazine.
WHAT WENT WELL: Your background is nice and allows the text and the images to stand out. You have added relevant images to the magazine. IMPROVE: You could add numbers on the images and include subheadings.
